What the blazes?

This weekend was miserable hot so of course I avoided the outdoors like the plague. (I love that expression "avoid it like the plague"). Audre came over on Saturday and we went to see the new "Sex and the City" movie which not only lived up to it's title but was totally cool so it lived up to its gross sales so far too. After the movie we went to Pub Dog pizza and dined on some super yummy puppy creations. It was crazy because apparently that was where my brother in law, sister in law, Pete, and Stan went to eat so we ended up running into each other. After that Audre had to get back to Frederick because there was a storm a brewin' and Pete came over to play Phase 10 with us. I hadn't played Phase 10 since my Grandmother died so it was nice to sit and remember her while I was playing.

Sunday Stan and I just played lazy and laid under as many fans as possible while we blasted the air conditioner. I can't take all this heat so I didn't. We went out with Stan's momma and daddy to Houlihan's and I was so super excited because Stan's mom brought this cute little robe that he used to wear when he was a little one. I was glad to have something that he used to wear for our baby. I love the sense of tradition. Stan's mom said he used to wear the robe on the beach so we will have to save it for next year's Ocean City trip!

Today I came into work and I finally realized why all of the SRO's have their own private air conditioners. Our building has no all over air so I have been suffering in this oven all day. Thank God for Sonya's fan because I would have died if it weren't here. I ate too much for lunch today so now I am all uncomfortable and feeling even more tired than usual. Oh well I am going home soon so I have no worries. When I get home rest assured I am getting rid of all of my clothes and sitting in a cold bath! I have tried to keep myself well hydrated and that has helped but I think I have to be careful not to eat too much in weather like this it just does not settle well.

I am all excited because I am pretty sure that I am offically in my second trimester! I can't wait until I am getting my gender ultrasound and I can start looking at clothes. While I was at Target the other day I looked at some baby clothes and I have to say I really will be happy with either gender. Boys are great and so are girls so I have no preference one way or the other at this point. I am just happy to be having a baby.

Something kind of cool we went out to dinner with Stan's family on Friday night and his mom suggested the name Gabriel since we are expecting around Christmas and then today my mom said the same name. I don't know what Stan thinks about it though. I never realized how hard picking out a name would be. It makes such a huge difference because it has to be something that both of you are going to like for the next "x" amount of years. It will always be on your mind since you will be thinking about your baby non-stop. I just don't know how you know which name is right for your baby. Maybe I will know when I see him or her.

Sorry your having such hot wheather; I know that can't be fun during pregnancy. You do have that pool though so maybe that can keep you cool for the summer. Gabriel is such a nice name; I tried to convince Merideth to name her son Gabriel. If you name him Gabriel you can call him Gabe or Alexander. But Gabriel has my vote too!

I think you have to wait to make the final decision until he or she is born. Plus, you should think of family names, things that mean something. That way you will never get sick of them. Plus middle names are a good way to have more options.
